I'VE DECIDED TO TEMPORARILY
SUSPEND THE NETPALS ENGLISH SERVICE. There were a lot
of people who signed up -- and continue to
sign up -- but I did not get much feedback
from members. I would like to restart this
program in the future when I have a better
plan for its success. I apologize to those
of you who were ready to go.

Our
webserver was COMPLETELY WIPED OUT by hackers!!
I am going on vacation
for THE MONTH of March, so right now I am trying
to get the website up and running again. I think
the MY ENGLISH BLOG will take some time. Also,
it will take some time to get all of the photos
back on the website. Sorry about this!

Yes, it's been a busy time here in Matsumoto.
It looks like many people are not so excited
to do this project, or maybe have not found
the time to start it. I haven't seen any blog
posts and I'm definitely wondering what the
NetPals members are thinking. Would you like
to do this? Should we continue to try this NetPals
stuff??

about your voice chatting. So please, when
you have time, please write a message on the

English Blog and tell us about your NetPals
English chatting experiences. When you write
a message about NetPals English, please
check the 'category' box 'NetPals English'
at the top right of the screen.
If you're having problems contacting
your netpal, try a few more times. If you're
still having trouble, then please send an
email to us and we will try to correct the
problem.

I've added some new members and sorted
the list. Please email me if you have
a special request for a NetPal partner.
Otherwise, I'm going to match you with someone
of the same English level. I will put the NetPal
match in the 'PAIR' column. I think we'll keep
the same NetPal for 2 months. Also, I think
I'm going to setup a blog especially for the
NetPals. The NetPals blog will have 'suggested
topics' for the NetPals conversations. On the
blog, you'll be able to write about your conversations
with your NetPal.

John will make 'NetPals'
pairings at the beginning of January,
March, May, July, September and November. Pairings
('PAIR' column) will be posted on this webpage.

with pairings)

John will send an email
to each pair that will inform you of: your netpal's
name, Skype ID and email address. The subject
line of this email from John will be: "ETJ
NetPals English Pair Information - month"

| 3 |
After receiving the email
from John, please send an email
to your netpal and discuss your schedule for
online voice chatting.
If your netpal's Skype ID is 'none'
then you will have to get that information
by sending an email to your netpal. (timezone
information)
IF YOU HAVE A NEW 'Skype ID' or email address,
please send an email to us and let us know
the information (our email address is at the
bottom of this page).

Do your NetPals voice
chats as scheduled with your netpal.
Please see our list of suggested
topics for your voice chats.
Here's the link to the Skype
website. You'll need the Skype software installed
to do the voice chats. (We will use the FREE
Skype service (NOT 'Skype Out,' which is a pay
service.)

After any of your chats, please
go to the MY
ENGLISH BLOG and write a blog post about
your experience chatting with your netpal.
When you write a message about NetPals English,
please check the 'category' box 'NetPals
English' at the top right of the screen.
I think it will be very interesting
to write and read these blog messages!! This
will be the way that I can monitor the 'NetPals
English' program. It is also the 'meeting
place' where all NetPals English members can
share their experiences and read about the
NetPals experiences of others. It's a good
place to practice English writing too!
All blog messages on the MY ENGLISH
BLOG will be in the category 'NetPals English'.
